James Johnson, one of the top three members of Barack Obama’s VP search committee, has resigned over his ties to Countrywide Financial. In the past two days Johnson has faced a battery of scrutiny over this and has been a large distraction to the campaign. The McCain campaign has seized on this and attacked Obama for using Johnson in his campaign.
