Responding to John McCain’s suspension of his presidential campaign, Barack Obama has issued a statement that did not suspend his own campaign, but seems to indicate that he will both campaign and work in Washington on the economic crisis.
Obama also stated that he believes that Friday night’s debate should proceed.
However, Obama keeps pushing how he contacted McCain earlier in the day to issue a joint statement stressing the importance of reaching a resolution on the economic bailout legislation. He will be hammered by the McCain campaign for using repeatedly saying statement.
